Having just arrived in Abu Dhabi we visited different schools looking for somewhere for our children. Thank you Reach British School for going through the curriculum with us so thoroughly, for the informative tour you gave us and the chance to meet members of your school team. We have decided that it would be best for the boys to attend Reach. You should be extremely proud of how you run your ship!

Chantelle (New parent for the academic year 2016-17)

Name:   Hamad

From:   Pakistan

Grade in September 2016:   Grade 7

Favourite subjects and interests:   My favourite subjects are science, because I want to learn about nature and I like to do experiments as well, and also ICT because I am very interested in learning about programming.

What do you like most about school?   I like this school because there are really nice and supportive teachers as well as the friends I have made. I think Reach British School is a wonderful school with students from different backgrounds.

I have been really impressed by the quality of education my children avail of at Reach British School.  Teachers make a special effort to know each child as an individual and the pastoral care is very good.  Teachers are of a very high quality and my children have made excellent progress since their arrival at Reach British School.  The senior Leadership Team is excellent.  It is clear that Mr Rob, Ms Ghada, Ms Claire and Ms Clair work very well together and weekly and daily communication is very clear, in both English and Arabic.

I guess as parents a few things we look to in a school is one that will offer our children a good education, a place where they can feel safe and an environment that makes them feel comfortable and allows them to be creative, enjoy themselves and make friends. We are happy we have all of these at Reach British School.

Two of my children attend the school and each week we see how much they have flourished when it comes for our time to sit down with them and measure their progress. My daughter (age 5) has come on leaps and bounds with read/writing skills, as well as her maths, while my son (3) communicates so much better since being in a class with children his own age.

The teachers, all of them, not just the ones familiar to my children, are affable, approachable and available with any queries we may have, as are all the staff. The balance between learning and fun, familiarity and focus is spot on.

The facilities are excellent, and the swimming pool was a huge attraction for my daughter when it came to telling her she would be changing schools midway through the year. The classrooms are huge and the numbers in each class seem manageable. The outside playground is spacious and well-shaded.

For me one of the most reassuring sights each morning and afternoon is the presence of the school principal, Mr Rob Taylor, greeting the children as they are dropped off or making sure they are all on their school bus come home time. You may as parents think that seeing less of the principal is better, but for me it is important they are visible as the face of the school.

We are the parents of Tahnoon Al Buraiky, and we would like to thank RBS for making a huge difference in our son's education. Tahnoon has gained academic skills that enable him to do grade level work with the necessary learning supports. The classrooms encourage collaboration and teamwork which allow students to work together to achieve a common goal and also gives them the opportunity to develop their social skills at the same time. There is a very good atmosphere of working hard, but also having fun and being motivated. In addition, the extra activities have significantly strengthened our son's personality and helped him develop his social skills. It is clear that RBS understands that our child requires coordinated, systematic, and careful attention to all aspects of their learning and development.

I feel fortunate my kids attend Reach British School because the school provides many opportunities for all children. The Educational Activities provided are many and help kids build up confidence and self-esteem. Teachers are very committed and I am very pleased to see my children’s’ progress this year. The school leadership is impressive; it proposes a clear vision for the future and it is continuously working to meet the challenges and demands of a rapidly changing world. My children feel very welcomed and safe when they go to school and this environment helps them learn and develop.
