Reach British School in many ways resembles schools that you would find in any major city in England and Wales: communities of children who come from a range of ethnic, racial, linguistic and religious backgrounds.
Our current intake of children is multi-cultural, presenting over 40 nationalities. This diversity is an aspect that we believe makes our British school special and different to most other types of British schools in Abu Dhabi.
Our multi-cultural school is like a small scale version of the increasingly globalised world that our children are growing up in. Through living and working together, our children get to experience on a daily basis, life living alongside people from different cultures.
Through exposure to different cultures, we believe that the children begin to see themselves as part of the wider world. One of our core values is developing tolerance for people from other cultures. Through exposure to other cultures, our children begin to learn that we are different, but we are also the same, and that those aspects which make us the same are the building blocks for developing harmonious, respectful and productive relationships with others.
Our children will enter the workforce competing with those from all over the world – their skills at being able to relate and work with others, as well as the ability to converse competently in more than one language will set our children apart from many others. As part of the International Schools Partnership family, our children will have a unique chance of forging relationships and having educational experiences offered to them which our competitors may not be able to offer – such as school exchanges for secondary school children and chances to take courses which are being run in a school elsewhere in the world. This is such an exciting place to live and work - as a new school, still developing its culture and ways of working, it provides a unique opportunity to shape and contribute to the building of this school’s reputation locally.
We have selected a team of well qualified and inspirational teaching practitioners, who have a genuine love of children and who want to see them succeed and develop into well-rounded, contributing citizens of the future. Native English speakers teach the National Curriculum of England and we have well qualified Arabic staff who teach Arabic, Islamic and UAE Social Studies. The senior leadership team are driven, teaching and learning oriented and have exceptionally high expectations for the children and staff.
We are open and approachable and look forward to welcoming prospective parents to the school to experience our ethos first hand.
