Our Year 8 and Year 10 Girls Netball team competed in their first match against Al Rabeeh Academy and won! They were fantastic and had a nail-biting finish with a last – minute goal.
“Being part of the school’s netball team is an amazing experience. I learnt a lot from my teammates and opponents from Al Rabeeh Academy. These kinds of matches help me boost my confidence and social skills,” says Dana from Year 8.
“These kinds of tournaments teach me important skills in life such as teamwork, accepting defeat, and learning new tactics when playing a match,” added Lisandi from Year 8.
Reach British School strengthened its Sports and PE curriculum this academic year providing our students with more opportunities to nurture their talents in sport related activities. Our PE department set up· Football (Boys) and Netball (Girls) to compete in the ADEK sports programme:
Our Sports and PE curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It provides opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness. Sport and team sports also help to build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
Secondary PE teacher Ms Liz, shares: “I am very proud of the girls who gave their best in their first Netball match! I can see that they are competitive and had so much fun appreciating this sport. I am looking forward to celebrating more victories with our amazing team.”
