Reach British School was proud to join the first ISP Middle East Girls Football Tournament in Doha, giving students an opportunity to learn beyond the classroom through sport, travel, and connection across schools. The tournament brought together teams from ISP schools across the region, with students from The Hamilton International School and Park House English School in Doha joined by Reach British School from Abu Dhabi for a day of U14 football, sportsmanship, and connection. This tournament marked a special milestone for Reach British School: it was the first international trip organised for our students for a sports tournament. Travelling to compete helped students build independence and confidence, while experiencing the excitement of representing their school in a new environment alongside peers from across the ISP Middle East community. Our students really enjoyed this experience and had this to say:‘Going to Doha felt like a dream come true. The country is very beautiful. The football competition was amazingand we had so much fun. Everyone there was really nice and really helpful. I wish I could live through this experience again’ says Najeeba Y7‘The girls' football competition was fun and challenging, but overallit was a fun experience. It was our first competition and our first trip overseas. I made new friends and enjoyed seeing other students from the different schools’says Rea Y7On the pitch, our students showed determination, teamwork, and resilience, supporting one another throughout the matches and taking pride in their progress. Off the pitch, the trip created lasting memories and new friendships, reinforcing the wider benefits of sport as part of a holistic education.“Our time in Doha at the ISP Girls Football tournament was so much fun for our staff and the students. The girls demonstrated excellent teamwork and communication throughout the Qatar trip, supporting one another on and off the pitch. Their leadership and positive attitudes played a key role in their strong performances during matches. I am proud of them as this was their first football tournament and first overseas trip! I’d like to thank Durham School for Girls for hosting. We hope to see more opportunities like this for girls in sport soon!”sharedMs. Rochelle Scally, our PE Specialist at Reach British School.Thank you to Durham School for Girls, Doha for hosting, and well done to all teams involved.
